Y qué mejor para ello que en el nuevo templo de la música de Irlanda. Nadie mejor que “El león de Belfast” para inaugurar el Hot Press-Irish Music Hall of Fame, un lugar que nacía para mostrar el talento de los músicos y cantantes irlandeses de todas las épocas.
Que la tierra que le vio nacer, pensara en ofrecerle el honor de ser el primer músico al que se homenajearía en este museo, es un acto más que de honor, de justicia. Justo era ese reconocimiento si hablamos de todo un artista que abandonó los estudios a los 15 años, con el consentimiento familiar, para dedicarse a la música y que desde entonces no ha parado de envolvernos con bellas letras y armoniosas melodías, ganándose a pulso el apodo de “El Genio de Belfast”.
Tras Van The Man, otros muchos artistas irlandeses de música contemporánea también formaron parte de este museo como U2, Sinéad O'Connor, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher o Boyzone. Y decimos formaron, porque desafortunadamente el Hot Press se cerró a la espera de una nueva ubicación.

- 2005. Muere R.L. Burnside, en Memphis, Tennessee (Estados Unidos). Cantante y guitarrista de blues.
- 2009. Drive-By Truckers “The Fine Print (A Collection Of Oddities and Rarities 2003-2008)”, colección de canciones inéditas e inacabadas.
- 2009. Muere Jake Drake-Brockman, teclista de Echo and the Bunnymen, en un accidente de moto en la isla de Man. Tenía 53 años.
